Our Roots
Our journey began in 2015 when our co-founder Parkash, was desperately trying to help as many animals as possible in rural region of Gularya, Badryia. Unfortunately, there are no veterinary services, hospitals, animal welfare organizations or even a pet shop for hundreds of miles.
Parkash turned to social media to mobilize support and coordinate rescue missions.
In addition to using online platforms to amplify concerns, he tirelessly contacted distant organizations and traveled arduous journeys by bus — sometimes enduring over 20 hours on the road — to transport animals for critical medical care. His dedication and resourcefulness were instrumental in establishing the groundwork for our organization, ensuring that animals in remote areas received the attention and care they desperately needed.
Our Journey
Angela, our co-founder and director, was deeply moved by Parkash’s impassioned efforts and his commitment to animal welfare. With her background in animal care, she was inspired to join forces with Parkash, recognizing the urgent need for assistance.
Together, they embarked on a journey of learning and volunteering at a reputable animal welfare organization in Thailand. As Parkash’s reputation grew, daily calls poured in from across the region seeking help for disabled animals that were unable to survive on the streets.
Witnessing the overwhelming need firsthand, Angela and Parkash resolved to take further action to alleviate the suffering of animals in their community.
Soltis’ Hope Street Animal Rescue Begins
In 2019, we founded an NGO dedicated to animal welfare. By July 2021, we expanded our reach by establishing a United States 501(c)(3) organization, forging a valuable partnership. That same year, we proudly opened our inaugural sanctuary for homeless animals in Gulariya, Bardiya, Far Western Nepal.
